FIREWALL - Artwork Details
Description
FIREWALL in the Middle Ages ... Encaustic Painting Substrait: Malplatte medium: wax paste, Tools: Hot air gun, spatula, stylos © 2012 Frithjof Under Encaustic painting refers to the rediscovery of a 5, 000 year old Egyptian Wachsmalkunst and the conversion to a new creative form of painting. The wax is today in this modern method of encaustic painting melted including the bottom surface of an iron or similar device with hot air and spread across the painting surface. Unlike commercial liquid and solid colors encaustic colors have an exceptionally beautiful luster. The light is not reflected at the surface, but penetrates into the wax, giving it its unique shimmering effect. The pictures look as original much more intense and vivid than can be given here only approximately digitally.
